Well, I just finished with a fantastic weekend, thanks to Genericon.  I'm not terribly keen on anime, and much less so on the sheer volume of weeaboo emanating from the DCC and Low buildings.  More tempting, however, is the opportunity to be a complete furfag and play Rock Band and DDR until my eyes refuse to stay open.  Most importantly, I got to see a lot of out-of-town friends, namely [info]angeraaa and [info]lazyneko .  While the con itself was the least eventful I've been to so far, it was most personally enjoyable.
I guess I should write about the semester I just started.  It looks like it's going to be much easier class-wise than the last, with the lack of Comp Sci II making no small contribution.  I've actually got more classes, but they all seem pretty easy, with the exception of Game Dev II.  Fortunately, that's the class I'm most motivated to succeed in, because with the Game Symposium in April, it can land me something nice with a nearby developer.  I'm worried about the whole deal because I've been just a musician so far.  But if I can apply my musical skills to game-specific projects like the one in this class, I hope to find a good niche in the industry.  But really, the prospect of having to find a job worries the shit out of me right now.
One of the benefits of not having my week filled with coding is, I actually have time to work things like working out and making some music.  The stuff I said I would do in my post at the beginning of last semester.  We'll see what happens.  I also plan to rush Psi Upsilon, now that I can commit the time.  I'm looking forward to that.  Also, I'm continuing to spend too much money on concerts.  I'll be seeing Beirut this Saturday, which should be wonderful.  At least I can justify it as the fulfillment of my Music Theory concert requirement.  There.  Now I can forget about the fortysomething dollars I'll be spending.  Hooray!

Peer Pressure, part one

I have a LiveJournal!  Are you happy now?  I hope you are!

Okay, journaling...  I assumed I would have just tons of very interesting things to talk about.  And I do!  You know what is exciting?  I should be working on Comp Sci right now!  Yes!  But I'm not.  Intriguing, no?  Ah, college life is just a mile a minute.

So...LiveJournal.  More like ANGSTJournal, am I right?  Oho!

But yes, I guess I'll give some kind of outlook on the year, given the time of my registration.  I am one week into my Junior year, and I have reached the conclusion that I am probably going to die.  Most of my classes are project-tastic, and I am having my second go, yelling and flailing my arms, at Comp Sci 2.  I think it's safe to say my GPA will be taking a dip back in the 2 point something range this year.  Aside from classes, I am also attempting to not have twigs for arms, and I'm going to the gym on an almost regular basis.  Hopefully good things will happen.  With all this going on, I doubt I'm going to have as much music time as I would like.  Or at least I'll be too lazy to actually attempt writing any.  I can still clang around on the keyboard.  But the whole band thing is on hiatus.

That is my overly exciting semester.  My long, long, overly exciting semester.
